From its humble beginnings in 1879 as an all-male, 12-piece fife and drum corps, to today's 225 members, TBDBITL is steeped in rich and sacred traditions such as the Skull Session, the Ramp Entrance, Hang On Sloopy, and Script Ohio. Having its OSU debut on October 9, 1965 Hang On Sloopy became so popular that it is now the official rock and roll song of the State of Ohio. The "Pride of the Buckeyes" thrill fans with their performances and enthusiasm and is a respected member of elite college bands across the nation. How proud OSU fans, and Ohioans alike are when they hear that phrase: "And now, the most memorable tradition in college band history, the incomparable Script Ohio." So loved is this tradition, that each fall alumni return to perform it "just one last time."
